The Indo-European Language Family
• The Indo-European language families are all
over Europe and many parts of Asia.
• Half of the World speaks Indo-European.
The Indo European Language is
broken down into subfamilies like:
Romance, Germanic, and Slavic
The Romance Language includes:
French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian,
and Portuguese
The Germanic language includes:
English, German, Danish,
Norwegian, and Swedish
The Slavic languages include:
Russian, Polish, Czech, Slovak,
Ukrainian, Slovenian, SerboCroatian, and Bulgarian
• The Latin based tongues is survived in the
Slavic invasion
• The Romania Latin origin is in five countries
• The French language extends to many
countries.
• The Celtic language is in the northeast
• The Romance language goes into northern
Europe.
• The Finnish, Estonian, and Hungarian are part
of the Uralic Family
• The Uralic family goes to Eurasia to the pacific
Coast
• The Altaic family includes Turkish, Kazakh,
Uigur, Kyrgyz, and Uzbek languages
• The Altaic family is mostly located in the
middle east
