In this presentation we will talk to you about
ancient Greece architecture. we will also talk to
you about it’s influence to modern day

GREEK ARCHITECTURE
Built homes in simple styles.
 They used stones instead of bricks and wood in
public buildings.
 They used columns and beams for there buildings.
 They used columns to hold the weight of the
building.
 They used three different designs for there
columns. .
 There architecture was copied by the Romans then
the Victorians

GREEK COLUMNS
Doric columns = thick & strong (non decorative)
 ionic columns = slim & light (decorative on the

top)

Fancy Corinthian style = delicate & slender
(carvings of leaves or flowers on the top)

THE PARTHENON
from 498-480 b.c building the Parthenon
 It was a temple built for the goddess Athena.
 It was one of the first temples built completely
out of marble.
 Greek life was religious they had to make there
temples very beautiful.
 Built on the acropolis.


In this presentation we talked about the history
of ancient Greek architecture. We also talked
about that even though it is old we still use it in
