Served in a narcotics investigation unit for 5 years of 15 year career
As a patrol deputy/narcotics K9 handler, constantly focused on narcotics detection as
means of criminal deterrence.
Conducted over 200 investigations for narcotic law violations
Apprehended over 200 persons for delivery or intent to deliver narcotics
Wrote and obtained over 50 narcotic related search warrants
Testified in over 50 court appearances for the prosecution of drug law violators.
Conducted over 100 interviews and interrogations, procuring criminal information and/or
admissions of guilt
Testify as an expert witness in narcotic investigation cases in the 16th Judicial Circuit
Detected and seized 8 vehicles with aftermarket hidden compartments used for trafficking
narcotics locally and nationally.
Seized over 2,000 lbs of cannabis, seven kilograms of heroin, ten kilograms of cocaine,
and over $1,000,000 in drug-related currency as a patrol deputy and as a narcotics
investigator.
Experienced in interstate narcotic trafficking interdiction techniques and profiles Identified, investigated, and apprehended at least three individuals living in Kane County
who were associated with Sinaloan and Juarez Mexican drug cartels Initiated interstate interdiction tactics at Kane County Sheriff’s Office involving the canine
unit, to include; hotel/motel contacts, interstate bus encounters, and public storage sniffs. Successfully assisted federal, state, and local police agencies with narcotic investigations
from 2004 to 2009 as a canine handler and narcotics detective, to include: the DuPage
County Sheriff’s Office, Hampshire, Gilberts, Elgin, Carpentersville, St Charles, Geneva,
Batavia, Aurora, Sugar Grove, Yorkville, Elburn, West Chicago, and Wheaton Police
Departments. As well as the Illinois State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration,
Federal Bureau of Investigations, and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. In 2011, while applying criminal interdiction techniques in a patrol setting, I seized over
293 lbs of cannabis, 7 kilograms of heroin, and over $100,000 in narcotic-related
currency

In 2014, employed as a contractor to assist in the development and training of the Pinal
County, AZ Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Program.
In my narcotic enforcement career, I have seized the following to date: over 3,000 lbs of
cannabis, over 15 kilograms of heroin, over 40 kilograms of cocaine, over 2 lbs of
methamphetamine, more than 15 vehicles containing aftermarket hidden compartments
used to transport contraband, and over $1,000,000 USC in illicit currency
Awards/Accomplishments










Awarded the Daniel Morrissey Kane County Deputy of the Year Award for
2005. My aggressive patrol work and narcotic detection was cited as one
reason for the award.
Nominated for the Louis F. Spuhler Kane County Officer of the Year award
in 2008 for a large cannabis seizure resulting from the application of
interstate interdiction techniques
