Reproduction in Flowering
Plants
The parts of a flower
There are so many different shapes
to flowers in nature.
The pistil: where fertilization
happens.
An actual pistil with pollen tubes in
it.
So how does the pollen get to the
pistil?
The most important and common
pollinator: the honey bee!
Don’t forget this helpful bird!
And some flowers simple rely on the
wind.
These are the wind-pollinated
flowers of maple trees. Not
beautiful, but they work!
Evolution has produced so many
pollinator-flower relationships, it’s
amazing!
