With God's light, we go from darkened thinking to spiritually
enlightened thinking
1. The title of a book written some time ago was YOUR GOD IS TOO
SMALL! Is your God too small?
2. Let us think for a few moments about how big, powerful, knowledgeable,
wise, and great God is, and how small we are in comparison. Have you ever
taken a plane ride and looked down at the little cars with the little people in
them? How did it change your way of looking at life? What if you looked
at the earth from the moon? What if you looked at our galaxy from a distant
galaxy millions of light years away? Light travels 186,000 miles per second
and about six trillion miles in a year. Our galaxy, the Milky Way is 100,000
light years in diameter. Over 1 trillion galaxies can be seen by our largest
telescopes. Yet, God is greater than this great and infinite universe!
3. David said, "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the
moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are
mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?" (Psalm 8:3,4)
4. God has opened our once blinded eyes and we now see that we have a
Creator and we see the greatness of our Creator! The Bible tells us He is
omnipotent - all powerful, omnipresent - present everywhere, omniscient knows all, and is sovereign - controls all.
5. In what ways does focusing on the greatness of God change you? What is
the proper response to the greatness of God?
