Levers and Pulleys
To study for your test, review over all of the quizzes. The
questions on the quizzes mirror the test questions.
Know the following for your test.
Vocabulary and examples:
fulcrum
load
class one lever systems
class two lever systems
class three lever systems
Be able to draw the amount of Newtons used on a spring
scale.
Know which pulley system gives the greatest advantage of
mechanical effort.
Know how much effort is needed to lift a load in all of the
pulley systems.
Know how much distance is needed to lift a load in all of
the pulley systems.
Be able to draw and label a type one, two, and three lever
system.
Be able to look at an illustration of a lever system and tell
which lever system would correctly illustrate the situation
being asked. For instance: Which lever system is correct if
the cat weighs less than the dog?
