Dear Mr. President,
I, Hannah one of the geologists you have asked to observe all the earthquakes for the past
two weeks, have found that earthquakes will perform in the most unbelievable places
until you understand the way our earth works and get the inside scoop.
Lately the most recent earthquakes have been occurring in Indonesia around the new
found under water volcano such as Kepulauan Talaud, Indonesia, also in other places in the
Indonesian Region. After what I have observed I can predict in the future there will be many
earthquakes in the Indonesian Region just as where many of the earthquakes have been occurring
in the past two weeks.
Indeed there is a way to determine the parts of the world that will have been known to be prone to
earthquakes and that is by, one if the area in on or close to a plate boundary, two if there are any
fault lines near the area, and three if the area is well known for multiple earthquakes.
The relation between earthquakes and volcanoes is in a way complex. If you ask the question to
your self, where do most earthquakes occur? Simply you could answer to yourself normally
around the coasts or near the or off the coast. But if you ask the question, where do most
earthquakes occur? That’s a new story. They are related because most volcanoes are around
subduction zones and subduction zones consist at oceanic and continental plate collisions and
since that is a plate boundary what will most likely occur when the plates shift, well of course an
earthquake. But my theory is that the stress released from the plates can give to the magma in the
volcanoes base and give to the pressure build up but of course this wouldn’t happen all at once it
happens at a slow pace just the actions seem sudden and violent because you just don’t expect it.
What is causing the earthquakes? It’s the question everyone wants to know well its simple really
all it is, is the tectonic plates moving and shifting. The plates move and are constantly moving yet
they only move a couple inches each year. There are three different plate boundaries convergent
boundaries which are when plates are pushing at each other, divergent boundaries which are
when plates move apart from one another, and transform boundaries which are when plates slide
past each other. But the reason there is so many earthquakes is because when plates shift the plate
moves but it may be a small movement but since its such a massive piece of land it causes very
violent movement.
I enjoyed your questions and answering them and I have learned much more than I already knew
because of researching recent earthquakes. But yes I have easily answered your questions with
ease but if you have any other questions send them to me and I’ll answer them in a jiffy.
